FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Shield It – Van Rollers 4

How much money can I save with temporary surface protection?

It depends on the scope of your project and the type of surfaces you need protected. ShieldIt’s temporary surface protection is designed to eliminate annoying touch-ups or costly remedial work. Sometimes re-work can be up to three times the cost of protection. In other instances, for example feature walls, the remedial costs can be up to ten times the cost of protection. In most cases, temporary surface protection is a no brainer.

What are the main benefits of getting temporary surface protection?

It’s important to protect the finished product so you can carry on with confidence throughout the construction process. ShieldIt wants you to have enough peace of mind – when you have multiple trades and sub-trades onsite – to complete your build efficiently and effectively, on budget and on schedule.

If you install a finished product, you want it to look brand new when the occupants move in. It’s the little things that catch the client’s eye. Don’t disappoint your clients with scratched timber floors, cracks in the glass or dents in the walls. Not only does it reduce profits, it hurts your reputation and hinders future referral business.

Where do you source your products from?

ShieldIt sources quality products locally, where possible, and internationally from reputable international suppliers. We value innovation and keep our eyes out for new products as they enter the market.

Why can’t we just install the surface protection ourselves?

You can, but… A key part of ShieldIt’s service is making sure it’s the right product for the right job. With more than a decade’s worth of experience in the market, ShieldIt knows which products work on which surfaces. This means you can be assured that the products last for the duration of the project and that they don’t leave behind residue or other issues once they are removed.

ShieldIt also delivers a complete and professional service, with our skills and expertise on hand from start to finish.

What surfaces can you protect?

Multiple types of interior and exterior surfaces, including timber floors, carpets, windows, joinery, tiles, kitchen bench-tops, feature walls and more. ShieldIt can also wrap exterior panels, protect lifts, halls, and common areas, and even furniture if you are doing a re-clad or refurbishment.

It all depends on your budget, site, timeframe and what you want.

The benefit of having ShieldIt onboard is that our specialists are familiar with the challenges and constraints of large construction sites and we often consider surfaces or items that need protecting which might have otherwise been overlooked, saving you time, stress and money.
