GOOP XR Façade Protection System

TEMPORARY PROTECTION FOR GLASS, ALUMINIUM AND SELECTED FINISHED SURFACES – INSTALLED, AND MANAGED FOR LIVE CONSTRUCTION ENVIRONMENTS.

THE REALITY

Construction environments are unpredictable.

Unpredicatable

Surface damage isn’t a product issue — it’s a system failure:

  • substrates vary

  • coatings differ

  • conditions change

  • application is inconsistent

That’s where most protection systems fall down.

WHAT GOOP XR ACTUALLY IS

Critical for sensitive façade surfaces such as Low-E glass and anodised aluminium where incorrect protection can cause permanent damage.

GOOP XR is a peelable protective coating designed for temporary protection of non-porous construction surfaces:

  • glass (including tinted, Low-E, and coated)

  • powder-coated and anodised aluminium

  • PVC joinery

  • selected finished surfaces

Forms a removable film that protects against:

  • plaster and mortar contamination

  • paint overspray

  • construction debris

  • general site damage

WHERE MOST PRODUCTS FAIL

Most protection products rely on:

  • ‘apply and hope’ approach
  • no visibility of site conditions

When issues occur — responsibility becomes unclear.

THE SHIELDIT DIFFERENCE

ShieldIt does not rely on product claims — we control how protection performs on site.
Every GOOP XR installation is supported by:
  • pre-install condition assessment
  • controlled application methodology
  • environmental condition awareness
  • documented installation
  • managed removal process

This turns protection into a managed system — not a risk- — with documented accountability at every stage.

ENVIRONMENTAL & SITE CONDITION ASSESSMENT

Application is carried out with consideration of site conditions at the time of install, including:

  • surface condition

  • ambient and surface temperature

  • moisture presence

  • exposure and site activity

Where required, Condition assessed and recorded where required to support application decisions and project documentation.

This approach supports appropriate product selection, application timing, and risk control during installation.

SUBSTRATE CONTROL

GOOP XR is designed for use on non-porous substrates, maybe subject to site-specific testing.
However:
  • coating systems vary
  • surface age and condition varies
  • environmental exposure differs between projects
Where substrate type or coating system is unknown:
Site-specific testing maybe required prior to full application.

PERFORMANCE

  • Peelable film system

  • Water-based application

  • Designed for temporary protection during construction

  • Suitable for extended exposure periods depending on site conditions and application

  • Removal assisted with water where required
